Transparency International’s campaign ‘Unmask the Corrupt’ is doing a great job creating awareness and bringing the (mostly abstract) concept of corruption closer to the public. People can nominate and vote on the cases of grand-corruption world-wide.
Among these selected cases is the Brazilian scandal regarding the state-owned oil-company Petrobras. For this case we created a campaign-idea.
Creating awareness though social media and motivating people to join the critical mass-event will be the first step. Thus providing banners, profile pictures and cover photos for those wishing to spread the message online. Next to social media the campaign can encourage people to spread the message in ways which undermines Petrobras’ core business; cycling for example, uses no oil/gas and thus sends out a double message. This is where the Critical Mass-event comes into play. On the event itself there are big banners, apparel and bike-accessories. Saddle-covers can be made to share around and to be put on bikes around the city.
